Oscar 2019, ecco gli 87 film in corsa per l’Oscar straniero
Annunciate le pellicole in corsa per l’Oscar al miglior film straniero.
86 pellicole. Tante dovrà batterne Matteo Garrone per far suo l’agognato Oscar al miglior film straniero. Ottantasette Paesi hanno presentato i propri film per la 91a edizione degli Academy Awards, ovvero 5 in meno rispetto ai 92 dello scorso anno.
Per la prima volta ci saranno il Malawi, che ha presentato The Road to Sunrise di Shemu Joyah, e il Niger, che ha presentato The Wedding Ring di Rahmatou Keita. Favorito numero uno, probabilmente, il messicano Roma di Alfonso Cuaron, già Leone d’Oro alla Mostra del Cinema di Venezia, insieme al giapponese Ritratto di Famiglia, Palma d’Oro a Cannes, al libanese Capernaum di Nadine Labaki e al polacco Cold War di Pawel Pawlikowski. Anche questi ultimi due titoli premiati sulla Croisette, respettivamente con il Premio della Giuria e la Miglior Regia.
Se l’Italia sarà rappresentata da Dogman, la Francia ha scelto Memoirs of War di Emmanuel Finkiel, la Spagna Champions di Javier Fesser, il Regno Unito I Am Not A Witch di Rungano Nyoni, la Germania Opera Senza Autore di Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, il Belgio l’acclamato Girl, l’Ungheria lo splendido Sunset di Laszlo Nemes e l’Australia Jirga di Benjamin Gilmour.
Le nomination saranno annunciate il 22 gennaio mentre la notte degli Oscar andrà in onda il 24 febbraio. L’ultimo film italiano a far sua l’ambita statuetta è stato La grande Bellezza di Paolo Sorrentino.
