Producers Guild Awards 2016, le nomination – Carol assente a sorpresa

I Producers Guild of America Awards sono i premi che celebrano l’eccellenza nella produzione cinematografica e televisiva. Negli ultimi 8 anni chi ha vinto il PGA si è poi portato a casa anche il premio Oscar. Sono quindi una cartina di tornasole estremamente affidabile in ambito Academy, con le nomination della 27esima edizione appena annunciate. E sono i titoli candidati a far ovviamente rumore, perché tra le 10 migliori produzioni dell’anno si fanno notare gli outsider Ex Machina e Straight Outta Compton, le conferme Mad Max, The Revenan, Spotlight e Il ponte delle spie, le pseudo sorprese La Grande Scommessa, Sicario, Brooklyn e The Martian.

Grandi assenti The Hateful Eight di Tarantino, Star Wars: il Risveglio della Forza, Steve Jobs, Joy e soprattutto Carol, primatista tra i nominati ai Golden Globes. Proprio la porta sbattuta in faccia a Todd Haynes è quella che fa più scalpore. Particolarmente scontate le candidature animate, con Anomalisa unico vero possibile ‘concorrente’ per Inside Out della Pixar, mentre tra i doc è sfida a due tra Amy e The Look of Silence.

I vincitori verranno annunciati il 23 gennaio prossimo, con PGA speciali per Jim Gianopulos (Milestone Award), Shonda Rhimes (Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television), David Heyman (David O. Selznick Achievement Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures), The Hunting Ground (Stanley Kramer Award), e Industrial Light & Magic (Visionary Award Vanguard). L’ultimo trionfatore ai PGA poi tornato a casa senza Oscar come miglior film in saccoccia è stato Little Miss Sunshine, nel 2006. A seguire sempre doppietta.
