Locarno 2014: il programma ufficiale
Il Festival del film di Locarno 2014 apre i battenti il prossimo 6 agosto ed è stato annuciato il ricco programma dell’evento.
Dopo avervi proposto le giurie del Festival del film di Locarno 2014 (6-16 agosto), è il momento del programma ufficiale annunciato dal Presidente del Festival Marco Solari che ha così commentato la ricca selezione di titoli:
Alta qualità artistica e tecnica, efficienza operativa, rigore finanziario, sono la base del nostro lavoro quotidiano. Questa è la combinazione che colloca Locarno tra i festival internazionali che contano. Dobbiamo però essere vigili in merito alle strutture che devono sapersi continuamente rinnovare.
Ad aprire il Festival ci sarà Lucy, il nuovo action-thriller fantascientifico di Luc Besson che vede protagonista Scarlett Johansson e tra le pellicole più attese Hunder-Foot Journey di Lasse Hallstrom e Clouds of Sils Maria di Olivier Assayas, mentre il Pardo alla carriera andrà a Jean-Pierre Léaud.
Saranno inoltre presenti a Locarno, fra gli altri, Dario Argento, Juliette Binoche (premio speciale Excellence Award Moët & Chandon), Pedro Costa, Julie Depardieu, Mia Farrow, Melanie Griffith, Rita Pavone, Jason Schwartzmann, Nansun Shi, Aleksandr Sokurov, Andrea Štaka e Agnès Varda.

Pardo d’onore Swisscom: Agnès Varda
The Pardo d’onore Swisscom 2014 will be presented to the French director Agnès Varda. The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, 10 August on the Piazza Grande. Agnès Varda will take part in a conversation at the Spazio Cinema (Forum) open to the public moderated by Jean-Michel Frodon.

Every year the Excellence Award goes to one or more actors of international stature. Moët & Chandon is supporting the Excellence Award for the sixth consecutive year.
Vision Award – Nescens: Garrett Brown
The American cameraman Garrett Brown is to receive the Vision Award – Nescens, Thursday 14 August on the Piazza Grande. The audience will also have an opportunity to participate in a masterclasses, at the Palavideo, with Garrett Brown whowill share the secrets of the making of the most famous films in his career.

Lifetime Achievement Award – Parmigiani: Armin Mueller-Stahl
The Lifetime Achievement Award – Parmigiani will be presented to the German actor Armin Mueller-Stahl. The award ceremony will take place on Thursday 7 August on the Piazza Grande. At the Spazio Cinema (Forum), Armin Mueller-Stahl will take part in a public conversation moderated by Ralf Schenk.

Pardo alla carriera to Víctor Erice
Spanish filmmaker Víctor Erice will receive a Pardo alla carriera. The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 13 August on the Piazza Grande. The tribute will be accompanied by a conversation with the audience at the Spazio Cinema (Forum) moderated by Miguel Marías.
