British Independent Film 2018, le nomination – domina La Favorita
Annunciate le candidature dei premi dedicati al miglior cinema indipendente made in Britain.
In un anno da record per la rappresentanza femminile, visto e considerato che oltre il 40% delle nomination nelle categorie individuali coinvolge donne, Olivia Colman guida le candidate nella categoria ‘miglior attrice’ per il mostruoso ruolo della Regina Anne, mentre Emma Stone e Rachel Weisz, sue co-protagoniste, corrono come ‘migliori attrici non protagoniste’. Quest’ultima bissa la candidatura come miglior attrice grazie a “Disobedience”.
“The Favourite” è inoltre candidato in 7 su 9 categorie nelle categorie tecniche, con Lanthimos in corsa per il miglior film insieme ad “American Animals”, “Beast”, “Disobedience” e “You Were Never Really Here”. Tra i registi c’è spazio anche per Andrew Haigh (“Lean on Pete”), mentre Steve Coogan, Rupert Everett, Joaquin Phoenix, Joe Cole e Charlie Plummer sono stati nominati come miglior attori. Steve Buscemi, Barry Keoghan, Dominic West, Evan Peters e Alessandro Nivola si batteranno per il premio di miglior attore non protagonista. La cerimonia dei BIFA si svolgerà il 2 dicembre a Londra.
