Critics’ Choice Awards 2016, candidatura ‘postuma’ per Star Wars VII

C’è sempre una prima volta. Nella giornata di ieri la Broadcast Film Critics Association ha incredibilmente infranto le proprie regole, inserendo Star Wars: il Risveglio della forza tra i titoli nominati a miglior film dell’anno. Inizialmente esclusa perché fuori tempo massimo, la pellicola diretta da J.J. Abrams è di fatto rientrata per il rotto della cuffia a 10 giorni dall’ufficialità delle candidature, portando così a 11 i film in corsa per il Critics’ Choice Awards più ambito. Quando si dice il potere della ‘forza’.

I Critics’ Choice Movie Awards sono dei premi cinematografici assegnati dalla Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA), formata da circa 250 critici cinematografici appartenenti alle principali testate giornalistiche statunitensi, operanti nel mondo della televisione, della radio, della carta stampata e internet. Ebbene dopo il trionfo ai National Board of Review Awards 2015 e agli Online Film Critics Society 2015, Mad Max: Fury Road ha dominato le nomination dei Critics’ Choice Awards 2016. Addirittura 13 candidature per il titolo di George Miller, con Tom Hardy e Charlize Theron tra i nominati in ambito attoriale.

Carol, The Martian e Revenant seguono a quota 8, con The Big Short, Bridge of Spies, Brooklyn, Room, Sicario e Spotlight a chiudere la categoria ‘miglior film dell’anno’. Jennifer Lawrence ha rastrellato addirittura 3 candidature in una botta sola, tra Joy e Hunger Games, così come tra i pluri-candidati troviamo Rachel McAdams, Theron e Hardy, a quota 2 ciascuno (per la prima si fa notare anche la nomination tv per True Detective). Tra le attrici in lizza Charlotte Rampling e Saoirse Ronan, Cate Blanchett e Brie Larson, mentre tra gli attori spiccano Bryan Cranston, Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Fassbender, Eddie Redmayne e Johnny Depp. Oltre a Miller, per la regia spazio a Todd Haynes per Carol, Alejandro G. Inarritu per The Revenant, Tom McCarthy per Spotlight, Ridley Scott per The Martian e a Steven Spielberg per Il ponte delle Spie. Dopo la candidatura ai Golden Globes impossibile non segnalare la nomination per Ennio Morricone grazie alla colonna sonora di The Hateful Eight di Quentin Tarantino, candidato anche per la sceneggiatura originale, per il cast, per la fotografia di Robert Richardson, per il trucco e per Jennifer Jason Leigh. La cerimonia di premiazione avverrà il prossimo 17 gennaio.
