Emmy 2023, nomination: “Prey” lo spin-off di Predator candidato a sei premi, incluso miglior Film per la TV

Prey, lo spin-off/prequel dell’originale Predator nonché quinto film del franchise, è stato nominato agli Emmy 2023 in un totale di sei categorie: 2 candidature ai Prime Time Awards e altre quattro per i riconoscimenti tecnici “Creative Arts Emmy”. Il film diretto da Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane, The Boys) vede protagonista Amber Midthunder (L’uomo dei ghiacci – The Ice Road) nei panni di una guerriera comanche che si ritrova ad affrontare il famigerato cacciatore alieno “Yautja” in una selvaggia America precoloniale.

Prey ha ottenuto nomination per Outstanding Directing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie (miglior regia); Outstanding Picture Editing For a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie (miglior montaggio); Outstanding Music Composition For a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie, or Special – Original Dramatic Score (miglior colonna sonora); Outstanding Television Movie (miglior film per la tv); Oustanding Sound Editing for a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie, or Special (miglior sonoro) e Outstanding Writing For a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie (miglior sceneggiatura).

Nella categoria Miglior film per la TV, “Prey” se la vedrà con il sequel Hocus Pocus 2 e con la commedia biografica musicale Weird: The Al Yankovic Story con protagonista un sorprendente Daniel Radcliffe.

Gli “Emmy 2023” si suddivideranno in due cerimonie di premiazione: i “Primetime Emmy Awards” verranno consegnati il 18 settembre 2023,  mentre i “Creative Arts Emmy” sono previsti per il 9 e 10 settembre, ma potrebbero essere posticipati a causa dello sciopero della Writers Guild of America del 2023 e dello sciopero SAG-AFTRA del 2023.
